Five of the Most Interesting Next Generation Games from E3

Dozens of games were shown and discussed at the recent E3 in Los Angeles, California. Now that the show has ended, here are five of the most interesting next generation console games shown at the show:

1. The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt

The third game in CD Projekt Red’s fantasy RPG series starring the monster hunter Geralt of Rivia will be the first open world version of the game. The world looks gorgeous and is said to be a seamless experience with no loading screens as players travel to different islands that comprise the game world. Instead, players will sail their own boat, which may sink into sea during stormy conditions. The monsters and visuals continue to impress visually. The Witcher 3 will be coming to Xbox One and Playstation 4

2. Titanfall

Respawn Entertainment looks to make their mark on competitive online shooters with their first title Titanfall. The game was shown for the first time at E3 and will feature enhanced vertical movement and mechs known as Titans. These Titans are quick and agile instead of slow and lumbering. The game also looks to blend narrative with multiplayer gaming by featuring cutscenes before missions. The game will be console exclusive to Xbox 360 and Xbox One.

3. Quantum Break

Not much is known about the next game from Alan Wake developer Remedy, but if what the developer is talking about for their next project can be realized, Quantum Break will be an interesting combination of action video game and live action television series. Unlike with other cross-media franchises, the full season of the live action portion of the game will ship on the game disc, potentially allowing for a more personal experience. The game will be exclusive to Xbox One.

4. Infamous: Second Son

Sucker Punch Productions next-generation iteration of the open-world action series brings the series to Seattle and features enhanced visuals, more environmental interactivity and new powers for the series’ new protagonist Delsin Rowe. Second Son is looking to be one of the Playstation 4’s most interesting exclusives.

5. The Division

The latest game to receive the Tom Clancy moniker was the surprise of Ubisoft’s press conference like last year’s Watch_Dogs. The Division is set in a New York City that has been devastated by a viral outbreak during the busiest shopping time of the year. Unlike previous Clancy games, the developers, Ubisoft Massive, have stated that this game will be an RPG. It will also take place in an online world that will allow players to interact with and even combat others. The game will also feature a mobile companion that will allow players to interact from tablets to assist friends who are playing the game. The example shown during the demo had a player on a tablet controlling a drone that was able to mark enemies and buff companions. Tom Clancy’s The Division will be coming to Xbox One and Playstation 4.
