Now for the fun part, the newest sweep information! This two week period (6/4 – 6/17) set a new record with a grand total of 20 sweeps (not to mention, a good number of almost sweeps). The Yankees, Mets and Nationals were the busiest teams, each being involved in three separate sweeps. The Yankees have been on fire, winning 9-in-a-row (3 consecutive sweeps), while the Nationals were 2-1 (only being swept by the Yankees) and the Mets were 1-2 (they were also swept by the Yankees).

More teams had their first sweep/swept action over the past two weeks. The Oakland A’s and San Diego Padres both recorded their first sweep of the season – now every team in the MLB has at least one sweep. On the other side, only two teams remain as not having been swept all season long – the Chicago White Sox and the Cincinnati Reds.

That will do it for this update. The next update will include series ending on or before July 1st. In the meantime, be sure to follow @MLBSweeps on Twitter for the lastest Sweep news!
