Dodgers #DontLookAtMe Shirt is Simply Terrific

On Monday night (Sept. 19th), before the San Francisco Giants infamous bullpen blew another lead, Yasiel Puig grounded out to Madison Bumgarner to end the 7th inning. After Bumgarner threw Puig out, he apparently started to shout “Don’t look at me” towards Puig. The two stepped towards each other while exchanging words as the benches cleared.

There is a history between these two. In 2014, Puig flipped the bat after hitting a home-run off of Bumgarner. Bumgarner had something to say about that. Predictably, later that season the benches cleared when Bumgarner hit Puig with a pitch.

But what makes this story great is what happened the next day. On Tuesday, the Dodgers had custom #DontLookatMe t-shirts made.

I love this. Baseball after all is a game and I love when players can have some fun with themselves. Puig even signed a shirt and sent it over to the Giants dugout for Bumgarner. The Giants were amused by it, taking it like the joke it was meant to be (thankfully). Bumgarner even said if it was reverse, they would probably have done the same thing.

And “I Like You,” Puig.
