Welcome to Week 7 of the NFL.
Last week, we saw two interceptions returned for a touchdown at the end of the game to cover the spread. Luckily, I was on the winning side of both of those games. The Broncos intercepted Geno Smith to seal the game and cover the 8 point spread and the Cardinals were able to intercept Kirk Cousins to cover the 3.5 point spread.
The Dallas Cowboys were able to show the world that they are for real by beating the Seahawks handily in Seattle. The game wasn’t as close as the score indicated. Now the question will be can the Cowboys avoid the letdown when facing the Giants in Dallas. The Giants were shutout last week and lost Victor Cruz in the process, they have always played Dallas well in Jerryworld, can they bring the Cowboys back to reality? I don’t think so, but I think it will be close and I have the Giants with the points.
The other major storyline heading into Sunday is can Peyton Manning throw 3 touchdowns against the 49ers and break Brett Favre’s career TD mark? The 49ers defense has been terrific this season despite being without Navarro Bowman and Aldon Smith, but this week they will also be without Patrick Willis, which will make defending Julius Thomas that much more difficult. I think Manning gets two TDs and ties the record and will have to wait one more week to break the record. I’m taking the 49ers with the points, and I would go so far to even say the 49ers are the type of team that can beat Peyton Manning in Denver. Tough defense, a good running game and mobile quarterback (as Russell Wilson has proven) have shown to be the key to beating the Broncos and the 49ers possess all three.
Without further ado, here are the remainder of the Week 7 picks:
The Best Bet is the team I believe has the best chance to win and cover the spread. Home teams are in CAPS.
